We got the opportunity to work on a skate facility with a local youth group and rather than the original off the shelf mini ramp they were planning, we came up with a small but perfectly formed capsule style bowl |

To bring it in on budget much of the work was done by the group itself which meant it took 7 months to complete but the end result was worth every shovelful of sand, mud and gravel that was moved, it has become a real go to facility for the local youth but there is a really wide range of age groups that regularly turn up and skate
both from a design and construction level it was a hell of a step up from previous building of wooden ramps, but there is a fair amount of inspiration out there on the internet
if you are visiting, the bowl is open to all users, regardless of age or ability, quietest times are obviousy when the kids are at school, but 3 o' clock onwards thru the evening are fairly mad, early morning at the weekends is generally fairly mellow. Generally the atmosphere is relaxed and encouraging, it may not be the biggest skate park in the world but it's super smooth, nice transitions and there's plenty of lines to explore.......see you there |
